Ganesh Utsav

Target Tours India Pvt Ltd.Ganesh Utsav is celebrated across India as the birth of Lord Ganesha. Lord Ganesha is considered amongst the revered Indian Gods for Hindu Mythology. The festival falls usually in the months of August and September, and celebrated with great enthusiasm. The Hindu mythology makes it almost a necessity to worship the lord Ganesha on all auspicious occasions. Marriages, religious functions and all other festivals even observe the worshipping of Ganeshji.

The Hindu Pantheon regards Ganeshji as the slayer of all troubles and obstacles, and considers him the harbinger of good omen. Even the Hindus starting a new venture prominently pray and set-off onto the success of journey just after having the blessings of a benevolent god Ganesha. The God surely fulfils the wishes of those who pray to him sincerely, and sets all to the path of prosperity.

The Hindu calendar remembers Ganesh on the 4th day of every month (on chauth or chaturthi). The majority of Indian Hindus do the same on the Ganesh Utasv, his birthday. Hindus celebrates the day by performing pujas at temples, homes and every possible place of good luck. Fasting, feasting and sweets distribution (ladoos of different tastes and materials) dominate the Ganesh Utsav across India. People offer ladoos to the God and worship him with great fervour.

As soon as the day gets over, the devotees follow the Ganesh Chaturthi rituals and immerse the idols in the close by scared water sources. Ganesh Chaturthi marks Good omen and Hindus seek the blessings on this day to find themselves in prosperity and happiness. People carry out all sorts of things like cleaning the house and whitewashing to celebrate the day with great intensity. In the west India, especially in Maharashtra, the festival comprises a special significance enjoyed like nowhere in India.
